SUGAR UNWRAPPED

The waiter in an Italian candlelight restaurant was quite enthusiastic and brought four of these amaretti morbidi along with my espresso - as if he knew how I devour dessert. But food photographers are very disciplined and always take the picture before eating what's on their plates. So voluptuous was their packaging that I was tempted to take the picture with the amaretti fully wrapped in their glossy colored paper. But... would anyone have known what these looked like later? In fact, could I still have called it a food photograph then? Quick decision, as I arranged them on one of my favorite plates and happily sprinkled more sugar on them...
